Malivoire's newest single vineyard Gamay. Higher elevation than the rest, classic light and juicy and fruit forward.
Varietal(s): 100% Gamay Noir
Appellation: Vinemount Ridge
Nose: Lots of juicy red fruit. Strawberry, raspberry, cedar, cinnamon.
Palate: Slight forest floor rounding out red fruit. Light on its feet, decent acidity, fine tannins
Winemaking Notes: Malivoire's newest single-vineyard Gamay. High altitude, with gravelly east facing slopes and younger vines. No new oak
Producer Notes: Malivoire was established in 1995 with the purchase of the Moira vineyard, and has since blossomed into a high production winery, with 24000 cases produced annually. They are certified sustainable within Ontario
Area Notes: Vinemount Ridge is a sub-appellation south of the Niagara Escarpment. It has gently rolling, sunny south-facing slopes, allowing quick ripening but a shorter growing season
