Nose: Dark red fruit, cherry and black raspberry, some slight sou-bois and earth

Palate: Light-medium body, lovely red berries and fruit, fresh and bright. Touch of licorice and forest floor

Winemaking Notes: Organic and biodynamic grapes, native yeasts, minimal sulphur at bottling, fermented and aged in concrete

Producer Notes: The Chateau was built in 1791, and purchased by the current owners in 1878. Bertrand Guilhem is a 5th generation winemaker. Organic and biodynamic wines

Area Notes: Malapere is the most westerly region in the Languedoc. Despite proximity to the Mediterranean, there is a fair amount of influence from the Atlantic. Atypical soil for Languedoc: lots of calcareous sandstone
