Rich, full flavored, textural and slightly creamy orange wine from the Italian/Slovenian border.

Nose: Rich and aromatic, gooseberry gently piney and fine oaky notes. White flowers, tangerine peel, apricot, slightly honeyed
Palate: Dry, medium bodied, rich creamy texture, expansive tropical fruit, toasted almond and brioche. Full flavoured, slightly mineral and saline
Winemaking Notes: Late harvest, hand picked, 2 hour vine to fermentation time. Natural primary fermentation in large tanks, secondary fermentation in barrique on lees, no racking. No sulphur added! Matured 18 months in 220L French oak barrels
Producer Notes: Originally founded in 1700, Movia has been a renowned winery in Europe throughout the 1900s. Currently it is run by Aleš Kristančič, who’s family took ownership in 1820. He uses minimal intervention in his organic certified, biodynamic practicing vineyards. Average vine age is 66 years
Area Notes: Goriska Brda is located on the border between Slovenia and Italy, straddling the line between both countries. The region is called ‘Colio’ on the Italian side. Fresh, cool air flowing down from the Alps mixes with warm air from the Mediterranean, creating an ideal microclimate
