Producer Notes: The vineyards of Domaine des Corbilleres have been in the Barbou family since 1923. Current vigneron Dominique farms 26 hectares in Touraine. His great grandfather Fabel claims to have introduced Sauvignon Blanc to the area, which now makes up 80% of white wine produced there today. Designated Oisly since 2011. A major player in the Oisly region

Area Notes: Touraine-Oisly encompasses 10 communes at the heart of Sologne’s winegrowing country, on a large plateau between the Cher and the Loire. It comprises 35ha, and only permits Sauvignon Blanc.

Climate is dominated by long, dry spells, more so here than throughout the rest of Loire. 225 km from the Atlantic, and the same from the central Massif hills of central France: climate is somewhere between maritime and continental. Loire is slow moving and does little to cool the region

Glaciated sandy soils over clay with gravel and shell marl. Most famous regions are known for Tuffeau, a soft porous limestone that lies beneath the vineyards and is used to build chateaus and cellars. Soils have excellent drainage, and the sand warms quickly, helping vines to reach maturity
