Spice and pepper driven Rhone blend. Delightfully savoury, with lots of dark berries and structured tannins.
Nose: Kirsch, dark berries and a ton of savoury dried spices, black pepper and dried violets
Palate: Medium/full bodied, dark fruit and good structure. Super savoury, exploding with spice, black pepper and garrigue
Winemaking Notes: Organic vineyards, hand harvested, destemmed and fermented with naturally occurring yeast. Aged 6 months in neutral oak and stainless steel
Producer Notes: Founded in 1973, the Pesquie estate is now taken care of by 3rd generation winemakers, and has been farmed organically since the early 2000s. Primary focus is given to their plantings of Grenache and Syrah, though there are white grape varietals present
Area Notes: Ventoux has received increasing attention in recent years as an excellent wine growing region: located at a higher altitude than the rest of the Rhone Valley, it has excellent limestone soils and high sun exposure due to its elevation, which coupled with cooling mistral winds leads to excellent, balanced wines
