Fresh, delicate and floral rose, with moderate acidity and lovely bright red fruit, citrus and white flowers.

Varietals: 40% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre

Country: France

Region: Languedoc- Rousillon

Appelation: Languedoc A.O.C.

Nose: Floral and soft, with lily and elderflower, and delicate red fruit, wild strawberry and raspberry

Palate: Dry, crisp and refreshing. Citrus, orange peel, fresh strawberry, slight white pepper, light bodied with medium acidity

Winemaking Notes: Organic and biodynamic grapes on clay-limestone soil. Destemmed and cold-fermented, aged in stainless for 3-4 months

Producer Notes: The vineyards of Chateau de Lascaux have been in the same family for 13 generations, though the domaine itself wasn’t properly established until 1984 under Jean-Benoit Cavalier, who consolidated and expanded the vineyards before converting them to organic and biodynamic viticulture

Area Notes: Languedoc-Rousillon is a large and productive area in the south of France. It has a warm, Mediterranean climate, though these particular vineyards are located around Pic Saint-Loup, which gives them slightly better elevation and cooler evenings, which coupled with better daytime sun exposure makes for superior wines
