Lush, full bodied and oaked Rhone blend. Lots of honeyed, ripe yellow fruit, with excellent balance and structure.
Nose: Honeyed tangerine, pineapple, citrus and gingerbread. Generous and
Palate: Medium-full bodied, creamy and lush, with some tropical fruit, melon and
nice acidity to finish. Balanced and structured.
Winemaking Notes: Whole bunch pressed, fermented and aged in French oak
barrels on fine lees for 6 months.
Producer Notes: Rodolphe des Pins took over this estate in 1995, re-invigorating
the vineyards that had fallen into disuse. It is a historic site, with the first towers of
the Chateau being built in 11 th century to guard the French border from the Holy
Roman German Empire.
Area Notes: Lirac is located directly across the Rhone river from Chateauneuf-du-
Pape, extending across the low hills alongside the river.
