Spicy, fruity, medium bodied wine from a lesser known varietal. Think Gamay fruits with Syrah punchiness!
Nose: Ripe red cherries and plum, with some earthy spiciness.
Palate: Bursting with fruit and freshness. Tart and medium bodied, with pepper and forest floor. Lots of character here: can be consumed alone or with food
Winemaking Notes: Fermented with native yeasts, grown organically and biodynamically. The wine is unfiltered and lightly fined using pea protein, making it vegan. Aged in stainless steel and neutral oak.
Producer Notes: Serious about their biodynamic farming. These guys run their farm as an enclosed, self-sustaining ecosystem. They farm cows (hence the label), chicken and pork, as well as orchard fruits and ancient grains
Area Notes: Surprise! Austria makes amazing wines! Burgenland is located to the south, bordering Hungary (Bohème is grown very close to Burgenland). They grow a number of red varietals such as Zwiegelt and St. Laurent, as well as the fairly well known Grüner- Veltliner. Colder climate = fresher wines
