Varietal(s): 100% Gruner Veltliner

Country: Austria

Region: Neiderrostereich

Appellation: Kremstal

Palate: Light, fresh, with a slight spritz out of the bottle. High acidity, citrus and green apple, melon, wet stone and white pepper

Winemaking Notes: Organic, hand harvested grapes, whole cluster spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Unfined, lightly filtered

Producer Notes: Martin Nigl is a 1st generation winemaker, who established the estate in 1985. However, his family has been growing in the region for over 200 years, previously having sold their grapes to other, larger producers

Area Notes: Kremstal is one of a handful of tiny appellations in Neiderosterreich, or lower Austria, that are grouped around North-west Vienna and known around the world for excellent quality, often single-vineyard Gruner and Riesling. It consists of a narrow valley with steep terrases, transitioning from the alps to the Hungarian plain
