Nose: Fresh and vibrant with black currant leaf and blackberry flower.
Palate: Nervy and raspy tannins, dark berry and forest floor earthiness with a tangy, fresh finish
Winemaking Notes: Produced as a fresh, young alternative to the winemakers more serious, aged Sangiovese. Fermented in French Oak for approx. 14 days, then aged for 6 months in stainless steel. Unfined and unfiltered.
Producer Notes: Castello di Potentino consists of 4ha of low-density Sangiovese, Pinot Noir and Grenache. They farm organically, using only indigenous yeast.
Area Notes: Tuscany is one of Italy's most important wine regions, and the world's largest growing area for Sangiovese. The climate is Mediterranean and the topography consists of rolling hills, often giving grapes excellent exposure to sunlight for greater ripening.
