Funky, slightly fizzy, sort of orange sort of rose low ABV sipper.  Fresh and weird: quintessential natural wine.

Nose: Funky and fresh, lots of grapefruit and wet earth, watermelon and stewed, almost rotting strawberries

Palate: Very unique palate. Just barely effervescent. Slight tannic notes, some sweet fruit and some funky, earthy notes. Very, very crushable.

Winemaking Notes: Piquette, or “little wine” is traditionally made for the vineyard workers. Refreshing and light in alcohol (5.5%) this wine is made from the second pressing of the grapes with the addition of water. Producer Notes: Traynor is a tiny, 5.5 acre family owned/run winery in the heart of Prince Edward County. They are incredibly innovative and forward looking, being among the first in Ontario to make skin contact wines, piquettes, pet-nats and vermouths.

Area Notes: The limestone-rich soils of Prince Edward County produce wines with an unmistakable sense of place. The natural minerality of the soil is highlighted in the wines along with other flavors developed from the nutrients and minerals that the grapes absorb as they grow.
