Fresh, easy drinking bubbly. Lots of floral, fruity notes on the nose from Vidal, with bracing Sauv Blanc acidity.
Nose: Citrus and green apple, with bright white floral notes from the Vidal.
Palate: Soft, with larger bubbles, and a touch of residual sugar that’s balanced out by the fresh acidity. Lots of citrus and green apples.
Winemaking Notes: Small batch sparkling, made with Charmat method. Made in conjunction with Lighthall Vineyards.
Producer Notes: Nicholas Pearce is a Toronto-based wine importer who has a number of winemaking partnerships, based in P.E.C., South Africa and Oregon.
Area Notes: Cherry Valley is in eastern Prince Edward County, located in northern Ontario along the lake. It is a very cool climate region, with temperatures dropping so low that vines must be buried in the winter to protect them from frost. Most wineries in the region specialize in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
